Lavender essential oil has skin soothing and calming properties that calm down the inflammatory skin disorders and makes you feel fresh for a longer time.

Steps to be followed…

  • Pour 5 oz of raw shea butter in a double boiler to melt it.
  • You can make a makeshift double boiler by simply resting a small bowl having sea butter in a pan of water that heated at low flame.
  • When once it melted, pour 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 5 drops of lavender oil to it.
  • Stir well and take out this oil mix into a bowl and place it in a freezer for about 10 minutes.
  • After that, take out the bowl and you will find it partly solidified then use a hand mixer to whip up the ingredients for 5 minutes until it turns to a creamy texture.
  • That’s it! Your homemade shea butter lotion is ready to use.
  • Just apply a tiny amount on your skin to moisturize the body.
  • Regular application of this shea butter olive oil lotion will help you to deal with dull or dry skin and makes it look smooth and beautiful.

Note:

  • Also, you can use any of your favorite essential oils in this lotion.
  • Or prepare another lotion by simply melting 4 ounces of raw shea butter and stir 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and refrigerate it for 30 – 40 minutes to cool and then beat the mix to form as a creamy texture by using a hand mixer. Transfer it into a glass jar and use it as desired.

Method – 2: (Shea Butter with Rose)

The amazing combination of shea butter with rose (rose water and rose oil) will make you feel fresh rose flower scent lingering on the skin and get refreshed all the day.

Rose water provides a soothing sensation on the skin and also keeps it fresh by controlling the sebum content with its natural astringent property. Rose essential oil raises the skin’s natural permeability that in turn increases the skin’s absorption of nutrients and other ingredients.

Rose hip oil has a rich source of vitamin C (boosts collagen) and high levels of fatty acids (heal scars, burns and stretch marks) that help to prevent wrinkles and heal the sun damaged skin. Honey acts as a natural humectant that traps moisture from the air and also binds the ingredients together.

Steps to be followed…

  • Pour 5 oz of raw shea butter, 4 tablespoons of rose water and 1 teaspoon each of organic honey and rosehip seed oil in a food processor/blender.
  • Blend all these ingredients for a couple of minutes until smooth.
  • Transfer this body butter mix into a clean container and then add 7 drops of rose essential oil to it.
  • Stir well and store it in a sterilized glass container for regular usage.

Note: Or use geranium essential oil instead of rose oil (as a substitute) while preparing this lotion.

Method – 3: (Shea Butter Lotion with Orange Blossom)

This citrusy homemade lotion is made with shea butter, orange blossom water, grapeseed oil and sweet orange essential oil.

Orange blossom water provides many beauty (skin) benefits like toning, cleansing the skin, regulating sebum, controls acne and much more. Sweet orange essential oil has skin healing properties like preventing premature aging, fights acne and suitable for all skin types.

Frankincense essential oil has potent anti-scarring and antibacterial properties that shield the skin from harsh chemicals and germs causing skin problems and it also acts as a preservative for this recipe. Cornstarch has oil absorbing property that makes this recipe as a non – greasy along with binding all the ingredients.

Steps to be followed…

  • Melt 4 tablespoons of raw shea butter in a double boiler at low to medium heat.
  • Place this melted shea butter in the refrigerator for 10 minutes to get partly solidified (the reason is that melted shea butter cannot be whipped properly).
  • Take out the shea butter and add 2 teaspoons of sweet almond oil, 3 tablespoons of apricot kernel oil and 10 – 15 drops of Frankincense essential oil to it.
  • Stir well by using a hand blender for a couple of minutes and then add 2 teaspoons of corn starch to it.
  • Whip it again for 5 minutes until you get a creamy white mixture and now slowly add 1/4 cup of lavender hydrosol while beating the mix.
  • Never ever pour this hydrosol all at once into this whipped mixture why because the oils and water will not mix well. So, slow addition of this water will speed the blending.
  • Voila! Your non-greasy shea butter lotion recipe is ready to use.
  • Transfer this clean container and use it regularly that lasts over 6 months, if stored in a clean dry place.

Note: Or you can substitute the lavender hydrosol with either of these ingredients like rose hydrosol, calendula hydrosol, neroli hydrosol, chamomile hydrosol or any other floral water.

Method – 5: (Shea Butter Lotion)

  • If you find it still dry, then add few drops of olive oil (or coconut oil) into the mascara tube and close the wand.
  • Shake it well and swirl the contents inside the wand and apply it on your eyes as you do regularly.

Method – 3:

In this method, we will dip the mascara wand in hot water to maintain the quality of mascara, as the mascara has to be cleaned for regular usage.

Steps to be followed…
