It is caused due to improper hormonal balance, poor diet, poor skin care hygiene, stress, aging, etc.

Fortunately, we can get rid of acne with many natural remedies but due to the frequent attacks of acne, less collagen production, deep acne attack of the skin, if the infection extends to dermis and destroys healthy skin tissue, weakened immune system, etc. you might be left with ugly and embarrassing scars or dark spots on the skin.

These left over acne scars, if not treated properly then the bacteria will again attack the skin and causes acne. So, rather than using those harmful over the counter creams and scar treatments, which further causes damage to the skin, you can follow the natural, homemade remedies for treating acne scars.

Honey has an antibacterial property that clears acne causing bacteria and soothes the inflammation. Nutmeg has anti-inflammatory property that calms down the swelling. Method – 2: (Lemon Juice)

Lemon has natural bleaching or lightening property that reduces the appearance of acne scars and other dark marks. It exfoliates the skin to remove excess oil, dirt and dead cells on the skin’s surface to get rid of scars. It has an astringent property that tightens the skin and makes it smooth and shiny.

Steps to be followed…

  • Extract lemon juice freshly from a lemon.

How to Treat Bacterial Vaginosis Naturally

Bacteria will play a major role in the proper functioning of many parts of the body like digestive tract or vaginal area. Surprising? But it’s true. We all are aware there are good bacteria and bad bacteria present in our body and any imbalance in their levels will result in infections.

Vaginitis is defined as the inflammation of the vagina area. It causes pain, itching or burning sensation or even discharges. In general, there are 4 common types of vaginitis – bacterial vaginosis, yeast infections, trichomoniasis and vaginal atrophy.

So, bacterial vaginosis is a common type of vaginal infection that caused when the balance between the lactobacilli (good bacteria) and anaerobes (bad bacteria) gets disturbed. The most common cases are when there is an overgrowth of bad bacteria that throws the vaginal environment out of balance.

Do you know that 1 in every 5 women are experiencing this type of infection by the time they reached mid-forties. As per NHANES, it is estimated that 21.2 million women (between 15 – 49 years old) in the US are tested positive for this bacterial vaginosis infection.

Women (Sexually active or not) are more prone to this infection rather than men. It affects women reproductive system, especially who have an active sex life, weak immune system, pregnant, etc. Common symptoms of bacterial vaginosis include excessive vaginal discharge, itching, burning sensation, pain during urination, fishy odor, etc.

However there is no specific reason what causes the bacteria to get out of balance but certain factors like a new sex partner, excessive douching, excessive smoking, having sex with multiple partners, changes in pH balance of the vagina, Gardnerella vaginalis (spore that reproduce inside the vagina and change the normal pH balance), oral contraceptives, excessive usage of soaps or laundry detergents with perfumes or dyes, pain during/after sex, etc.

Bacterial vaginosis is not a serious health problem and often goes away on its own. But always try to treat the problem as soon as you find out its symptoms by consulting your doctor. There are some simple yet effective home remedies that help you in dealing with this annoying problem.

Home Remedies to Remove Sun Tan

With winter around the corner, most of us are gearing up to enjoy the sun with more outdoor activities, outings and picnics.

Although, most of us take precautions to prevent excessive dry skin in winter, what we tend to forget is that the skin is also at risk to tanning in cold weather.

We may assume that sun tan or sun burn is only a threat during summer months when we feel the sun rays piercing on the skin, but the truth is that UVA rays of the sun are equally powerful during both summer and winter months.

These rays penetrate the epidermis (outer layer) of the skin and reach the dermis and cause sun tan as well as other side effects.

In this article, we have put together a list of some of the most effective home remedies to get rid of sun tan naturally and also some tips to prevent and avoid sun tan.

Ways to Prevent Sun Tan

While it’s not possible to avoid the sun completely, you can always take precautions to minimize sun tan.

Use Sunscreen – Make it a habit to use sunscreen every day in order to reduce sun tan. Choose a sunscreen with broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection in order to protect your skin from the harmful rays of the sun. If you plan to stay outdoors for more than an hour then carry the sunscreen along with you and reapply it every 2 hours.

Wear protective clothing – Protective clothing that covers your arms and legs can prevent overexposure to UV rays during outdoor activities. Wear long sleeved tops and long pants to ensure maximum skin protection.

Avoid Going out During Peak Hours – The sun is at its peak and the UV rays are more intense between 10 AM and 4 PM. If possible, try to avoid scheduling your outdoor activities during the peak hours.

Carry an Umbrella – Try to stay in the shade as much as possible. Although, an umbrella does not block UV rays entirely, it can provide protection against the glares of reflected rays.
