Method 1: (ACV – External usage)

a) Apple cider vinegar press:

  • Take a small cup of apple cider vinegar and soak a cotton ball in it.
  • Allow it to soak down completely. Wring it gently to remove the excess liquid.
  • Now, take this cotton ball and slightly press it against the veins.
  • Then, leave it for few minutes by wrapping it with a towel or piece of cloth.
  • For best results, you can keep your feet above the pillow level for about 30 minutes.
  • Afterwards rinse them off with water.
  • Repeat it till you are completely free from varicose veins.

b) Apple cider vinegar massage

  • Pour few drops of apple cider vinegar (either direct or diluted) on your palm.
  • Massage gently using your palms and fingers moving in circular motions.
  • Now, allow it to rest down for 10-15 minutes.
  • Then, you can rinse it off or take a complete shower to get rid of varicose veins.

c) Apple cider vinegar soaks:

  • Take a bucket filled with 2 litres of warm water.
  • Add 2 tablespoons of ACV to it and stir well.
  • Now, soak your feet in this mixture for about 20-30 minutes.
  • Repeat it whenever required.

d) Apple cider vinegar wrap:

  • Take a long length of cotton cloth and soak it in apple cider vinegar.
  • Then, squeeze the cloth and remove excess liquid and wrap it around the affected area.
  • Let it rest for about 30 minutes and rinse it off with water.
  • You can continue this regularly to obtain relief from varicose veins.

e) Apple cider vinegar with carrot and Aloevera:

  • Take half cup of carrot pieces and add 3 tablespoons of aloevera pulp to it.
  • Now, blend all the ingredients to form a thick paste.
  • Then, you can add ½ cup of apple cider vinegar to it and blend it properly.
  • You can use this mixture as mask and can apply it on the affected area.
  • Allow it to sit for about 30 minutes and then, rinse it off using warm water.
  • You can repeat this process whenever required.

f) Apple cider vinegar and witch hazel:

  • You can combine 2 teaspoons of ACV and 1 teaspoon of witch hazel to form a paste and rub it on the affected areas to get rid of varicose veins.
  • For better results you can repeat its usage.

Method 2: (ACV – Internal usage)

  • Take a cup of water and add 2 teaspoons of raw ACV along with 1 teaspoon of organic honey to it.
  • Mix it properly and consume this drink prior to meals.
  • Regular intake of this will help you to get rid of varicose veins.

Alternative method

  • Mix 2 teaspoons of raw, unfiltered ACV and 1 tablespoon of non-carbonated water.
  • Now, consume it two times every day, once after the breakfast and again night after the dinner.

Method – 3: (Apple Cider Vinegar Mask with Carrot and Aloe Vera)

  • Pour pieces of 1/2 a carrot and 3 tablespoons of aloe vera pulp in a blender.
  • Blend it properly and then add 1/2 cup of ACV into the blender.
  • Again blend it to make a smooth and homogenous cream and apply it on the affected varicose veins as a mask.
  • Let it sit for about 30 minutes and rinse it off with warm water.
  • Continue doing the same application regularly till you get complete relief from the problem.

Note: Massage the paste upwards to stimulate the blood circulation and rinse with cool water.

Tips and precautions:

  • Before beginning with the use of ACV it is better to do a skin patch test. Some people may have sensitive skin and allergy towards ACV.
  • If you don’t get any relief by using ACV for more than 1 week then, it is better to consult the doctor and go for proper diagnose.
  • It is very important to go for regular massaging and leg exercises to improve the blood circulation in the body.
  • Standing or sitting for long period of time can lead to many lower body problems. So, it is advised to take break between works and relax for some time.
  • It is always best to use raw, organic and unfiltered apple cider vinegar along with the mother for effective results.

Here are few ways of using cucumber for dark skin.

  • Mix enough of fresh tomato juice in 1 tablespoon of sandalwood powder. Stir well and apply this paste on the dark hands and feet. Rinse off after 15 – 20 minutes with water.

Remedy – 7: (Turmeric)

The curcumin in turmeric acts as an antioxidant that helps to control the production of melanin in the skin and thus removes discoloration. It has skin lightening property that helps to maintain an even skin tone.

Here are few ways of using turmeric for treating your dark hands and feet.

Athlete’s foot (or tinea pedis or ringworm of the feet) is a common fungal infection of the foot. It is a contagious fungal infection that caused by the tinea fungus.

It occurs when a person came into contact with this fungus that grows in damp and contaminated surfaces like walking barefoot on gym surfaces, public showers, locker rooms, public pools, etc.

You will experience certain symptoms like burning sensation, itching, small blisters, scaly or cracked skin, redness, dry or flaky skin, discoloration of toenails, etc. which you observe more on the space between the toes and thus spreads throughout the feet and body.

People with a weak immune system, excessive sweating, wearing closed shoes or keeping the feet wet will get this infection but men are more prone to develop this infection.

Instead of using chemical based OTC creams, you can try using some simple natural home remedies. Tea tree oil will stand best in treating the fungal infections.

Can really Tea Tree Oil treat Athlete’s Foot:

Tea tree essential oil (or Melaleuca oil) that has various properties to prevent the fungal infections. Have a look at its properties that how it treats athlete’s foot.

  • Tea tree oil contains certain active ingredients like terpene hydrocarbons, sesquiterpenes, and monoterpenes that destroy the harmful bacteria and fungus causing this problem.
  • It has antimicrobial and antiseptic properties that disinfect the affected foot area and prevent spreading of this fungus to other body parts (or) to others.
  • It acts as an astringent that reduce the redness, scaly, cracked skin or skin peeling on the infected area and thus faster the healing process.

How to use Tea Tree Oil for Athlete’s Foot:

Here are some of the effective ways of using tea tree oil for treating athlete’s foot. Regular follow – up of the tea tree oil will yield best results.

Method – 1: (Tea Tree Oil)

Application of tea tree oil either in the diluted or undiluted way is effective in treating the athlete’s foot.

  • Undiluted way – apply few drops of tea tree oil directly on the affected area using a cotton ball and rinse off after few minutes.
  • Diluted way – mix 5 drops of tea tree oil in 1 teaspoon of any carrier oil and apply it on the athlete’s foot and rinse off with water after 15 – 20 minutes.
  • Tea tree oil compress – pour few drops of tea tree oil in a piece of clean cloth and place it on the affected areas. Press the cloth against the infection and discard it after 30 minutes.
  • Repeat these processes for once or twice daily till you get complete relief from the infection.

Method – 2: (Tea Tree Oil Foot Soak)

Foot soaks help not only to prevent the fungus but also speed up the healing process along with relaxing your strained feet.

  • Lavender oil exhibits antifungal and antiseptic properties that destroy the fungi causing athlete’s foot.
  • Fill your foot tub partially and add 10 drops each of tea tree oil and lavender oil in it.
  • Stir well and soak your feet in this water for about 15 – 30 minutes.
  • After that, dry your feet and repeat it once daily to speed up the infection.

Note:

  • Also, cinnamaldehyde in cinnamon kills the fungus and relieves pain. Boil 8 – 10 cinnamon sticks in 1 quart of water for 7 – 10 minutes. Steep the tea for 30 minutes and add 10 drops of tea tree oil to it. Soak your feet for 15 – 20 minutes.
  • Or simply add 10 – 15 drops of tea tree oil in your foot bath filled with lukewarm water. Soak your feet in this water for 15 – 20 minutes and dry it thoroughly.

Method – 3: (Tea Tree Oil Ointment with Aloe Vera)

Tea tree oil fights against the infection and aloe vera soothe the redness, pain, and inflammation that associated with this infection. This combination clears the infection and heals the skin.

  • Mix 5 – 7 drops of tea tree oil in 2 tablespoons of fresh aloe vera gel.
  • Apply a thick layer of this ointment all over the affected areas of the feet.
  • Let it sit for about 30 – 45 minutes and rinse off.
  • Dry your feet thoroughly and reapply it for several times a day on daily basis to get relief from the infection.

Method – 4: (Tea Tree Oil Wipes with Lemon Juice)

Both tea tree oil and lemon juice exhibit antimicrobial and astringent properties that fight against the fungi causing athlete’s foot and also dry out the feet to remove excess moisture, which helps to control the spread of infection to other parts.

  • Squeeze the juice of 2 lemons in 1/2 cup of water.
  • Stir well by adding 6 – 8 drops of tea tree oil in it.
  • Use this mix to wipe your feet by concentrating more on the affected areas with a cotton pad.
  • Leave it on for few minutes and rinse off.
  • Continue the process for 2 – 3 times daily for quick relief.

Note: Or you can mix 7 – 8 drops of tea tree oil in 2 tablespoons of olive oil (or coconut oil) and use it to wipe off the affected areas of the feet using a cotton ball.

Method – 5: (Tea Tree Oil with Apple Cider Vinegar)

Apple cider vinegar (ACV) has acidic nature and anti-inflammatory property that relieves pain and inflammation along with preventing the infection and its spread.

  • Mix 10 drops of tea tree oil in 1/2 cup each of raw and organic apple cider vinegar and water.
  • Give it a nice stir and then dip a clean cloth in this mix.
  • Place it on the affected area and wrap it around your feet.
  • Discard the cloth after 20 – 30 minutes and then rinse off the feet with tepid water.
  • Do the same process for once or twice daily till you cleared the infection.

Do’s and Don’ts:

  1. Direct application of tea tree oil may cause some stinging sensation on the applied skin areas. So, it is not suitable for dry or sensitive skin holders.
  2. Tea tree oil may result in some allergic rashes, itching, blisters or redness. So, it’s always suggested to do a skin patch test before following tea tree oil methods.
  3. Consult your doctor for proper diagnose and treatment for getting a quick relief from the problem.
  4. Always use 100% pure tea tree oil for treating any health or beauty problems, including this athlete’s foot.
  5. Tea tree oil is not meant for internal use. So, avoid the intake of this oil, as it can be poisonous or causes various side effects.

  • Take 2 buckets and fill one with bearable hot water and another with cold water.

Method – 4: (Clove Oil)

  • Mix 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper into 1/2 bucket of hot water.
  • Stir well and soak your feet in this water for few minutes.

Note: Or simply sprinkle some cayenne pepper in the socks before wearing it to keep the feet warm and heal your pain.

Tips and Precautions:

  1. Magnesium in Epsom salt will relax your feet and ease the pain. Mix 2 – 3 tablespoons of Epsom salt in 1 tub of warm water and soak your feet for 10 – 15 minutes. Apply moisturizer after soaking your feet in this salt water.
  2. Cold compress (or ice therapy) will numb the nerve endings in the painful area and thus reduce your swelling. Place few ice cubes in a cloth and use it to massage the affected area in a circular motion to get rid of the problem.
  3. Asparagus acts as a natural diuretic that flushes out the excess fluid out from the system and thereby reduces foot pain or edema. Steam some asparagus and consume it regularly. Also, consume foods that are rich in diuretic and potassium.
  4. Essential oils will also help to soothe your sore, tired and aching feet.   • Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) softens the toenail, reduces the pain and prevents the nail from getting infected. Mix 1 tablespoon of Epsom salt in warm water filled in foot tub. Soak your feet for 20 minutes and dry your feet properly. Repeat it 3 – 4 times a week.
  • Hydrogen Peroxide acts as a disinfectant that reduces the pain and swelling along with minimizing the risk of getting an infection. Mix 1/2 cup of hydrogen peroxide in warm water filled in a small tub. Soak the affected toenail in it for 20 minutes. Repeat it once or twice daily.
  • Indian lilac (neem) has pain suppressing and antimicrobial properties that reduce pain, clear infection and enhance the proper growth of a toenail. Boil 4 cups of water with a handful of neem leaves in it. Strain and let it cool down. Soak the affected nail in it for 10 minutes. Repeat twice daily.
