Best Remedies to Heal Minor Burns

Minor burns will damage only the epidermis (top layer) of the skin and makes the affected area red, swelling and painful. It is also called as superficial burns or first degree burns that were caused due to any contact with hot objects or fluids, sunburn, steam, electric shock, contact of any heated metal rod, firing up of the stove while cooking, etc.

Minor burns, if not treated on time, may develop into painful blisters. But in certain cases, these burns can be healed on their own. There are several natural remedies that minimize your pain and promote healing.

Home Remedies for Minor Burns:

The listed below are the best natural remedies that widely used to give relief from minor burns. Regular application will help to fade away the scars formed due to burns on the skin.

Remedy – 1: (Aloe Vera)

Aloe vera has astringent, anti-inflammatory, skin soothing and tissue healing properties that heal burns by reducing pain and swelling along with repairing the damaged skin. It is also very effective in fading the scar formed due to burns.

  • Extract aloe vera gel freshly from an aloe leaf.
  • Apply it directly on the burn and have mild gentle massage around the burnt area.
  • Leave it like that and reapply it daily for several times a day till you get relief from the minor burns.

Aloe Vera Remedies for Minor Burns

Note:

  • Or mix 1 teaspoon each of turmeric powder (antibiotic and anti-inflammatory) and aloe vera gel. Apply this mix on the affected areas to get rid of redness and pain.
  • Also, apply organic aloe vera juice on the affected area using a cotton ball.
  • If you don’t have aloe vera handy, then apply a cream that contains aloe vera as the main ingredient.

Remedy – 2: (Raw Potato)

Potato has skin soothing property that helps to alleviate the pain and also reduces the chance of having blisters.

  • Grate a raw potato and apply it on the affected areas.
  • For best results, chill the potato and then grate it.
  • Leave it on for about 15 – 30 minutes and wipe it off your skin gently.
  • Repeat regularly till you get relief from the burns.

Note:

  • Also, slice a raw potato and rub it on your burn but be sure that the slice should release potato juice while rubbing on that affected area (or) apply fresh potato juice on the affected area.
  • Or use cucumber in the place of potato to get relief from pain and irritation.

Remedy – 3: (Black Tea Bags)

Black tea contains Tannic acid which helps to draw out the heat caused due to burns on the skin and reduces your pain.

  • Place 3 – 4 black tea bags in a large jar filled with warm water.
  • Let it steep for few minutes and leave for another few minutes to get cool down.
  • Soak a clean cloth in this tea water and wring out to remove excess water.
  • Place it on the burned area of the skin and repeat the same for few times daily.

Note: Or place wet, cold tea bags on the injured area for few minutes.

Remedy – 4: (Coconut Oil and Lemon Juice)

Coconut oil is a well-known remedy for treating burns. Coconut oil has a rich content of vitamin E and fatty acids like caprylic acid, lauric acid and myristic acid that exhibits antioxidant, antimicrobial and anti – inflammatory properties that cure your minor burns. Acidic properties in lemon juice help to lighten up the scars.

So, this combination is very effective in treating your burns along with fading scars on the skin.

  • Mix few drops of fresh lemon juice in 2 – 3 teaspoons of organic coconut oil.
  • Stir well and apply it on the affected areas.
  • Let it sit for few minutes and wipe off gently using a wet cotton ball.

Remedy – 5: (Honey)

Honey has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and disinfectant properties that heal your burns and reduces the chance of forming hypertrophic scars.

  • Apply raw honey directly on the affected areas.
  • Cover it with a gauze bandage gently.
  • Let it sit for few minutes and replace the old bandage with a new one for 3 – 4 times daily.
  • Or simply spread honey on a gauze bandage and place it on the burn.

Remedy – 6: (Vinegar)

The antiseptic and astringent properties of vinegar help to treat minor burns and prevent further damage caused to the skin. It has acetic acid, enzymes,and essential nutrients that relieve your pain, irritation, and discomfort.

  • Mix equal quantities of apple cider vinegar and water in a bowl.
  • Use this mix to wash your burned area and soak a clean cloth in diluted vinegar mix.
  • Then cover the affected area with that soaked cloth for few minutes.
  • Repeat the process by replacing a new one for every 2 – 3 hours till you get relief from the problem.

Remedy – 7: (Plantain Leaves)

Plantain leaves is another age old effective remedy for treating burns. It has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties that heal your burns.

  • Crush few fresh plantain leaves to make it a fine paste.
  • Apply this paste on the burned areas of the skin.
  • Cover it with a cotton cloth as a poultice.
  • Continue applying poultice when the plantain dries out for few times daily.

Remedy – 8: (Lavender Essential Oil)

Lavender oil has antiseptic and pain relieving properties which heal the skin burned areas and also prevent the formation of scars on the skin.

  • Pour 5 – 7 drops of lavender oil in 2 cups of water and stir well.
  • Dip a clean cloth in this lavender water and use it as your compress on the affected area for several times.
  • Continue the same process until you get complete relief from the problem.

Note: Also, mix few drops of lavender oil in 2 teaspoons of raw honey. Spread it on the skin burn areas for 3 – 4 times a day.

Remedy – 9: (Onion Juice)

Onion has sulfur compounds and quercetin that relieves your pain, heals the burn and thus reduces the chance of forming into blisters.

  • Chop a fresh onion and blend it to extract its juice.
  • Apply this juice on the skin burnt areas and leave it like that.
  • Be sure to use freshly cut onions why because the onions will lose their medicinal properties after few minutes.
  • Do the same process regularly for several times daily.

Remedy – 10: (Oatmeal)

Oats has skin soothing properties that reduce your pain and inflammation caused by the burns. It also relieves you from itching and other irritations.

  • Mix 1 cup of oats in your bath water and stir well.
  • Soak in this water for about 20 – 30 minutes to soothe the irritated skin.
  • Air dry the affected skin and repeat the oatmeal soaks for few times a day to get relief from itching and irritation.

Tips and Precautions:

  1. Run cold water over the burnt skin area for several minutes immediately after the skin being burned. Also, apply a cold compress on the burnt skin for few times in a day to get relief from the pain and discomfort.
  2. Never ever place ice directly on the skin, as it restricts your blood flow which in turn causes certain damage to the delicate tissues.
  3. Apply some white toothpaste (not colored or gel toothpaste) on the affected area and also avoid applying some oils, petroleum jelly, butter or egg whites on the burns, as it traps the heat instead of drawing it out.
  4. Never ever break the blisters (wound develops after some time), as it increases the infection and slows down the healing process.
  5. Don’t use adhesive dressings on the wound and also prevent tanning or re-injuring the affected areas.
  6. Apply vanilla extract onto the burned skin using a cotton ball will help to heal the burns with its cool or soothing property. Regular application will alleviate pain and irritation.
  7. Milk has fat and proteins that soothe your burned skin and promotes healing. So, soak the burnt skin in milk for 15 – 20 minutes to get quick relief. Also, use yogurt or rosewater or mustard on the skin burned areas.
  8. Consume vitamins C & E rich foods or supplements to heal the burn. Vitamin C promotes faster healing of the wounds and enhances the production of collagen. Vitamin E has an antioxidant property that repair and protect your skin. Also, apply oil from capsules directly on the burns to heal it and to prevent scarring.
  9. Consult your doctor if you didn’t get any relief from the burn or its pain for immediate treatment.

The excellent anti-bacterial properties of salt is very soothy to the mucous membrane thereby reducing the swelling of gums.

Here we discussed only 2 Combinations i.e. one is salt-water and the other is salt-mustard oil-water. Both the salt solutions work well to cure gingivitis problem.

Method-1 (salt and water)

Ingredients

  • Salt- 1 tbsp
  • Lukewarm water- 200 ml or 1 glass

Procedure

  • Take a glass of lukewarm water and 1 tbsp of salt.
  • Now add salt to a glass of water.
  • Stir well and wash your mouth with this solution.
  • Repeat this process 2-3 times a day especially after your meals.

Method-2 (salt, mustard oil and water)

Ingredients

  • Salt- (1/2) tbsp
  • Mustard oil- 2-3 drops
  • Warm water- 1 cup

Procedure

  • Take (1/2) tbsp of salt and add 2 or 3 drops of mustard oil to it forming a thick paste.
  • Rub your mouth gum gently with this mixture for 2 minutes.
  • Now wash your mouth with warm water to get rid of this paste and repeat the process 2-3 times a day.

2. Baking Soda to Cure Gingivitis

Baking soda or bicarbonate of soda has the amazing quality of  balancing pH levels i.e. acidic or alkaline nature. It is an inexpensive remedy for many common ailments. Use of baking soda as an essential ingredient makes impossible for the harmful bacteria and other microbes to survive in your mouth.

Here we shared more information about how baking soda with its wonderful combinations like peroxide and apple cider vinegar can treat gingivitis problem.

Method-1 (baking soda and water)

Ingredients

  • Baking soda-(1/2) tbsp
  • Warm water- 2-3 drops

Procedure

  • Mix ½ tbsp of baking soda with 2-3 drops of warm water to make a thick paste.
  • Now brush your teeth with this baking soda paste for 2 minutes.
  • Wash your mouth with warm water and repeat the process once in every 2-3 days.
  • This solution will make your teeth look white and free from harmful infections.

Method-2 (baking soda, salt and water)

Ingredients

  • Baking soda- 1tbsp
  • Salt- 1tbsp
  • Warm water- 1 cup

 Procedure

  • The procedure is same as that of Method-1, but here we mix a tablespoon of baking soda and salt together.
  • Wash your mouth with this solution (combination of salt and baking soda).
  • Do this once in a day regularly in the early morning.

Method-3 (baking soda and peroxide)

Ingredients

  • Baking soda -2 tbsp
  • Hydrogen peroxide (diluted)-2 drops

Procedure

  • The procedure is as simple as others. Firstly, take 2 tbsp of baking soda.
  • Add 2 drops of diluted hydrogen peroxide to the baking powder.
  • Stir the mixture thoroughly and apply it on to the gums prone to gingivitis.
  • Rinse well and then clean with water to remove unwanted food or dust particles.

Method-4 (baking soda and apple cider vinegar)

Ingredients

  • Baking soda- 2tbsp
  • Apple cider vinegar- 2-3 drops
  • Warm water- 1 cup

Procedure

  • Mix 2 tbsp of baking soda and 2-3 drops of apple cider vinegar.
  • Now add a cup of warm water to the mixture to make a dilute solution.
  • Clean your mouth with this solution and spit it out.
  • Repeat the process twice a day.
  • If you use directly without adding warm water to the mixture it results in soar throat and burns etc.,.

3. Tea Tree Oil for Gingivitis

Antibacterial and anti-septic properties of tea tree oil make a perfect remedy for all types of infections including the mouth. For this you just need to dilute tea tree oil by mixing with your regular tooth paste and rub it on affected gum areas. Though it’s quite crazy combination works well for your gingivitis problem..

Ingredients

  • Organic tooth paste
  • Tea tree oil- 2drops

Procedure

  • Add 2 drops of tea tree oil to the amount of toothpaste you regularly use to brush your teeth.
  • Now brush your teeth with as you do regularly.
  • Do not swallow as the tea tree oil is highly toxic when consumed.

4. Lemon Juice for Gingivitis

Lemon juice is an effective method in treating gum infections for many people. It is mainly due to the high vitamin C content, citric acid, ascorbic acid and ammonium salts of lemon juice makes an anti-inflammatory agent.

Ingredients

  • Lemon-1
  • Warm water-1 glass

Procedure

  • To make use of lemon juice for gingivitis, slice the lemon into 2 equal halves and squeeze out the juice into a glass of warm water.
  • Mix well and drink this lemon juice after brushing your teeth in the early morning.
  • If you don’t like the acidity of the lemon, then use half lemon added in a glass of water.
  • The lemon juice mixed with warm water not only cleans your teeth but also detoxifies your body.

5. Oil Pulling to Treat Gingivitis

Oil pulling or oil swishing is a traditional remedy in India to treat mouth related problems. It involves the pulling of teeth using 1 tbsp of oil in the oral cavity such as coconut oil, sunflower oil or sesame oil. It is believed that it kills the harmful micro-organisms or toxins present in the mouth and boosts immune by detoxifying your body.

Method (coconut or sesame oil and water)

Ingredients

  • Coconut or sesame oil- 2 tbsp
  • Warm water- 1 cup

Procedure

  • Put 2 tbsp of coconut or sesame oil inside your mouth.
  • Swish it around your mouth to ensure that every corner of the mouth comes in contact with the oil.
  • At the beginning, start doing it only for 1-2 minutes and slowly increase the oil pulling time.
  • After pulling oil in your mouth, spit out and wash with warm water.
  • Oil pulling is best done in the morning just before you brush your teeth.

6. Turmeric for Gingivitis

Turmeric contains a compound called curcumin, an active component well known for powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. To use turmeric for gingivitis makes it as a fine powder. For better results it is combined with Neem powder, salt and alum powder.

Redness and swelling can be reduced by mixing with alum powder. It also kills the bacteria accumulated in your oral cavity which is responsible for gingivitis problem.

Ingredients

  • Turmeric- 4 tbsp
  • Neem powder-8 tbsp
  • Salt- ¼ tbsp
  • Alum powder- ¼ tbsp

Procedure

  • Mix all the 4 ingredients and store them in an air-tight container.
  • Take some powder, apply it on your teeth, gums and rub gently.
  • Repeat the process 2-3 times a day for quick relief from gingivitis.

7. Guava Leaves for Gingivitis

Guava leaves are loaded with extra ordinary properties like antioxidants, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial that helps to fight against the gingivitis disease. The leaves are very safe to chew and eat in which it contains a compound called guaijaverin.

Instead of chewing the guava leaves directly, it is made into a fine solution as a mouth washer. Here is the simple procedure to make your own guava leaf solution to treat gingivitis problem.

Ingredients

  • Guava leaves- 4/6
  • Water- 2cups

Procedure

  • Pour 2 cups of water in a container and boil it for 5 minutes.
  • Wash guava leaves before you dip in a hot water and simmer it till water remains half of its original quantity.
  • Allow it to cool for sometime and rinse your mouth with this water 2-3 times a day.

8. Sage for Gingivitis

Sage leaves contain the antimicrobial properties that can treat the infections and swelling as well. You can easily prepare a large quantity of this herbal mouth washer and store in a air-tight container or capped bottle.

Ingredients

  • Dried sage herb-1 tbsp
  • Water- 2 cups

Procedure

  • For the sage to treat gingivitis, firstly boil the water in a small container.
  • Add sage leaves to it and simmer it for 5-10 minutes.
  • Take out from the boiler and sip when it is warm.
  • Rinse your mouth with this herbal tea 2-3 times a day.

In case, if you don’t find sage leaves then you can go with mint leaves. The procedure and curing capacity is same as that of sage leaves.

9. Aloe Vera for Gingivitis

Due to anti-inflammatory and healing properties of aloe vera, it is widely used as miracle medicinal herb to treat gingivitis problem. Like other juices aloe vera need not to be diluted and make sure the juice is 100% pure.

Ingredients

  • (1/2) cup of aloe vera gel extracted from the leaf

Procedure

  • Take out fresh aloe vera gel from the leaf by making a cut over sideways.
  • Apply the aloe vera gel twice a day to the gingivitis affected gum areas.
  • After applying the aloe vera gel you may or may not wash with water.
  • Store the left over aloe vera gel in an air tight container.

10. Clove Oil for Gingivitis

Clove oil is used as remedy for treating oral infections like tooth ache and swollen gums over the years. eugenol, the most active component in clove leaves has anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that helps to cure gingivitis easily.

Ingredients

  • Clove oil- few drops
  • Cotton swab

Procedure

  • Pour few drops of clove oil onto the cotton swab.
  • Press the cotton swab soaked in clove oil against the affected gum areas for 2-3 minutes.
  • This will act as instant pain relief to your mouth problem and cure gingivitis.

Precautions

  • Stop smoking and drinking alcohol with high phosphorus content.
  • Consult a dentist regularly to keep your mouth free from infections and diseases.
  • Rinse your mouth with anti-septic mouth washer regularly, recommended by dentist.
  • You can use homemade mouthwash day and night until you get relief from the pain.
  • Brush your teeth daily, if possible twice a day in right way by focusing on your gums.

  • Do not apply baking soda directly on your teeth. Multiple applications of baking soda can damage the tooth enamel.

Natural Home Remedies to Get Rid of Dark Underarms

Shaving, excessive sweating, accumulation of dead skin, deodorants or usage of hair removal creams, improper ventilation, hormonal imbalances, friction, obesity, certain medications, sun exposure, unhygienic practices, etc. are some of the common causes of dark armpits.

However, achieving brighter underarms isn’t an impossible task, all you need to put your efforts and time along with some patience to follow the natural remedies for treating dark discolored underarms.

Home Remedies for Dark Underarms:

Natural remedies will give you excellent and long lasting results in low cost and no side effects on the skin. So, use these natural home remedies rather than cosmetic creams or treatments to prevent the dark underarms. Let’s get started.

Remedy – 1: (Potato)

Potato has an excellent natural bleaching property that lightens the skin. It has enzymes, starch which fades dark discoloration and gives soft skin. It gently exfoliates the skin, removes dead cells, detoxifies the pores and moistures the skin to prevent darkness in the armpits.

Steps to be followed…

  • Cut a medium potato into 2 slices, each of 1/2 inch thick.
  • Rub your underarms gently with these slices for about 3 minutes.
  • Let it sit for about 7 – 10 minutes and rinse off with lukewarm water.
  • Pat dry and repeat the same for twice daily till you get rid of dark armpits.

Note: Or grate a potato and extract its juice to apply on the dark armpits using a cotton ball. Rinse off after 10 – 15 minutes. Also, add honey or milk or tomato juice to potato juice before application for best results.

Remedy – 2: (Baking Soda)

Baking soda exfoliates the skin to remove dead and damaged skin cells along with promoting the growth of new cells. It has natural skin lightening property and acts as a pH balancer that reduces the melamine production and gives you a natural glow.

It also acts as a natural deodorant that prevents the bad odor and excessive sweating from the armpits by simply absorbing the excess oil and unclogs the pores.

Steps to be followed…

  • Mix enough of water in 2 tablespoons of baking soda to make a thick paste.
  • Apply it on the underarms and scrub the underarms gently for few minutes.
  • Let it sit for 2 – 3 minutes and rinse off thoroughly.
  • Pat dry the area and continue doing the same process regularly to get rid of dark underarms and its rashes.

Note:

  • Or use rosewater or apple cider vinegar or lemon juice or coconut oil or milk instead of water in the above baking soda process.
  • Also, wipe your underarms with this baking soda and water solution. Or dust a powder prepared by mixing equal parts of baking soda and corn starch on your armpits to neutralize its odor.

Remedy – 3: (Lemon)

Lemon has natural bleaching or skin lightening property that lightens up the dark skin. It has antibacterial and antiseptic properties that exfoliate the skin to remove dead cells and other toxins on the armpits. The citric acid content helps to prevent odor and excess sweating.

Steps to be followed…

  • Cut a fresh lemon into wedges and rub a wedge gently on your armpits for 3 – 5 minutes.
  • Let it sit for another few minutes and rinse off thoroughly.
  • For exfoliation, sprinkle some sugar on the lemon wedge before rubbing.
  • Dry your skin and apply moisturizer to prevent dryness and itching.
  • Continue doing it regularly till you get relief from dark armpits.

Note:

  • Or mix 1/4 teaspoon each of honey, turmeric and yogurt in 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice to make a paste. Apply it on the dark underarms and rinse off after 10 minutes.
  • Alternatively, mix olive oil or honey or tomato juice or rice flour in fresh lemon juice and apply it on the dark underarms to get rid of the problem.
  • Or else mix orange (or lemon) peel powder in water or milk or rosewater to make a paste. Apply it on the underarms and scrub gently to remove dead cells. Rinse off after 10 minutes.

Remedy – 4: (Cucumber)

Cucumber has natural bleaching property that lightens the skin to fade away the dark armpits. It soothes the skin to prevent itching or irritation caused due to tight fitted clothes or excessive sweating.

Steps to be followed…

  • Cut a cucumber into slices and place it on your dark armpits.
  • Rub it gently for few minutes and let it sit for another few minutes.
  • Rinse off with water and dry the area.
  • Regular follow – up of this process will yield best results of providing brighter armpits.

Note:

  • Or simply apply fresh cucumber juice on the darker armpits.
  • Alternatively, mix fresh lemon juice and turmeric in cucumber juice. Apply it on the affected areas and rinse off after 30 minutes. Repeat regularly.

Remedy – 5: (Coconut Oil)

Vitamin E in coconut oil helps to nourish and moisturize the skin to clear dark armpits. The proteins in this oil help for tissue repair and production of healthy cells which in turn prevents sagging and darkness in your armpits. It acts as a natural deodorant.

Steps to be followed…

  • Apply enough of organic coconut oil on the dark underarms.
  • Massage it gently for few minutes till the oil has absorbed into the skin.
  • Leave it on for about 10 – 15 minutes and rinse off with mild soap and lukewarm water.

Note:

  • Or use any natural oils like olive oil or almond oil or jojoba oil or a combination of these natural oils to whiten your armpits.
  • Alternatively, mix sugar or lemon juice or baking soda or any other essential oils to coconut oil and apply it on the skin to prevent the darkness on your armpits.

Home Remedies to Get Rid of Fleas

Dish Soap Flea Trap – This is flea trap prepared by mixing some dish soap in some water and placing bowls of this mixture in all the rooms. The water and soap solution traps the flea due to its high viscosity.

Usage:

  • Leave it for 12 hours and then clean up

Lemon Spray – This is yet another nontoxic flea spray that kills the pests and refreshes your house and pet’s fur. Fleas are repelled by the citrus aromas and acidic nature of lemons, so even if it doesn’t kill them it will definitely help to get rid of them.

Usage:

  • Slice a lemon thinly
  • Add it to a liter of water and bring the water to boil

Diatomaceous earth – Diatomaceous earth (DE) is the microscopic remains of fossilized algae called diatoms. It is a very fine powder that can be spread around easily and it is non-toxic to humans and pets. The cell walls of these algae are made of silica which is a component of glass. The sharp edges of the fossilized diatoms cut through the shells of the fleas and dry them out.

Usage:

  • Clean your house thoroughly
  • Now, sprinkle Diatomaceous earth to the areas where you think fleas might hide
  • Leave it in for 12 to 24 hours
  • Now, vacuum away all the DE powder and clean up the vacuum bag

Precaution – Always use food grade DE. Use proper eye protection and cover your nose and mouth while using it because, although non-toxic, it can irritate the eyes and throat.

Baking soda – Baking soda also works as a natural dehydrating agent that dries out the flea eggs and larva and kills them even before they can hatch.

Usage:

  • Sprinkle baking soda all over the house, over and under your carpets, under the furniture, in your pet’s bedding, etc.
  • Leave it for 12 to 24 hours
  • Now, vacuum your house and all the areas treated with baking soda
  • Empty the contents of the vacuum bag outside in a trash bin

Boric Acid – Boric acid works in a similar way like salt and baking soda and helps to eliminate fleas by drying out the eggs and adult fleas.

Usage:

  • Vacuum your carpets and floors and clean your house thoroughly
  • Take a salt shaker
  • Fill it up with boric acid
  • Sprinkle it in thin layers all over the house, on the carpet, under furniture, etc.
  • Leave it for 12 to 24 hours
  • Now, vacuum all the surfaces treated with boric acid

Usage

  • Take dried rosemary, rue, wormwood, fennel and peppermint leaves

  • Apply a mix of 1/2 tablespoon each of castor oil and coconut milk on your eyebrows using mascara brush.
  • Also, use warm coconut oil for thick eyebrows instead of castor oil. Simply dab some coconut oil on the eyebrows at night before bedtime. Rinse with lukewarm water in the morning. Do it once daily.
  • You can also apply warm olive oil (or few drops of honey in 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil) on eyebrows and massage gently for few minutes. Wash the eyebrows with warm water after 45 minutes and repeat it once daily.
  • Or apply almond oil (or) vitamin E oil (or) jojoba oil (or) petroleum jelly on your eyebrows at night before bedtime and massage gently till the oil absorbed. Rinse off in the morning with lukewarm water.

Remedy – 2: (Egg Yolk)

We all know that hair is made up of keratin protein and an egg has a rich source of protein which is essential for hair growth. Egg yolk has biotin that helps in faster hair growth and thereby thick eyebrows.

  • Separate egg yolk from an egg and whisk it till you get a thick consistency.
  • Apply the yolk mix on each of your eyebrows by using a cotton ball.
  • Wait for 15 – 20 minutes and wash the area with cold water.

Fenugreek seeds are enriched with proteins, lecithin and nicotinic acid which help to promote healthy hair growth along with rebuilding your hair follicles.

  • Pour 1 teaspoon of fenugreek seeds in enough water and soak it for at least 5 hours.
  • After that, grind the seeds to make a thick paste and add some almond or coconut oil to it.
  • Stir well and apply it on the eyebrows at night before bedtime.
  • Leave it on for overnight and rinse off in the morning with warm water.
  • Do the same for 2 – 3 times daily until you get satisfied results.

Remedy – 5: (Lemon)

Lemons are rich in vitamin C, folic acid, citric acid and other nutrients that promote the hair growth of your eyebrows. It also removes excess oil which clogs hair follicles and prevents its growth.

  • Place the sliced peels of a lemon in 1/4 cup of coconut oil.
  • Mix well and keep it aside for 15 days in a cool and dry place.
  • After that, apply this mix on the eyebrows using a cotton ball at night before bedtime.
  • Rinse off in the next morning and repeat it 3 – 4 times daily to enhance your eyebrows.

Note:

  • Or simply rub a freshly sliced lemon over the eyebrows and rinse off with warm water after 15 – 20 minutes.
  • Direct application of lemon may cause some stinging sensation. So, dilute lemon juice with few drops of water and apply it.
  • Avoid exposing the eyebrows to direct sunlight for at least 2 hours after using lemon, as it lightens the hair color and causes irritation due to its bleaching property.

Remedy – 6: (Aloe Vera)

The aloenin compound in aloe vera promotes healthy hair growth. It rejuvenates the hair, absorbs excess sebum, nourishes the hair follicles and makes the eyebrows grow faster and thicker.

  • Extract aloe vera gel freshly from an aloe leaf and apply it on your eyebrows.
  • Massage it gently for few minutes and rinse off with lukewarm water after 30 minutes.
  • Repeat it once or twice daily for best and quicker results.

Note:

  • Or prepare a paste by mixing little honey or coconut oil or vitamin E oil in 1/2 teaspoon of aloe gel and apply it on the eyebrows. Rinse off with water after 30 minutes. Do it once daily.
  • Or simply mix 1 tablespoon each of aloe vera gel and almond oil and apply it on your eyebrows with the help of mascara brush. Rinse off after few minutes. Repeat it 2 – 3 times a week regularly.

Tips and Precautions:

  1. Milk has all essential nutrients and proteins that nourish the hair and thickens your eyebrows. Dip a cotton ball in a bowl of whole milk and dab it gently on your eyebrows. Dry it and rinse with warm water.
  2. Include plenty of water and foods that are rich in vitamins (A, C & E), proteins, omega – 3 fatty acids, iron, etc. which helps for healthy hair growth.
  3. Have some regular massage of the hair follicles using circular movements and exfoliate the skin to remove dead cells and thereby to increase blood circulation.
  4. It’s better to avoid plucking, tweezing or waxing the brows too frequently to regrow your eyebrows. Also, rinse the face (especially eyes) to remove makeup on the eyes.
  5. Avoid rubbing or scratching the eyebrows too hard and also don’t press the eyebrows too hard while applying an eyebrow pencil.
  6. Exfoliate the eyebrow area gently using a soft brush for a couple of minutes to promote hair growth. It also removes dead skin and other impurities which restrict the hair growth. It helps to prevent thin and sparse eyebrows.
  7. Sleep tight for at least 6 hours daily and reduce your stress levels to enhance the growth of your eyebrows.
