Best Beauty Habits to Follow Every Night

December 17, 2016 By Sruthika Leave a Comment

We all know that the skin is the major and large organ of the body that protects our body from dust, harmful sun’s UV rays, pollution, and other environmental irritants, harsh chemicals, excessive dryness or oiliness, affect of cosmetic makeup and beauty products, etc.

So, over time, these things will cause some damage to the skin and thus results in the signs of premature aging, drying, uneven skin tone, dark spots, dark circles and dull complexion.

Due to busy schedules, we are unable to concentrate more on our skincare. The night is the best time we get to reverse the skin damage and to take good care of your skin and hair.

In general, the skin repairs itself in the night while you sleep and thus rejuvenate in the morning to make it healthier. So, a proper skin care routine at night time will help to improve the skin to make it glow with an even tone, hydrates and reduces blemishes.

Here, we are providing you with the best things which you have to be habitual by spending few minutes for your skin care at night before bedtime. These beauty habits will definitely improve your skin and thus enhance your beauty in a short time.

1. Remove Makeup:

Remove your makeup before going to sleep to keep your skin looking young and flawless. The skin pores will open up at night while sleeping but if there is a layer of makeup on the skin (like mascara, eye shadow, lipstick, foundation), then these pores get clogged and thus results in spots or acne breakouts.

Beauty Habits Remove Makeup Every Night

Use a facial cleanser, makeup remover or cold cream to cleanse your skin to make it free from makeup.

2. Brush your Teeth:

Dentists recommend brushing and flossing your teeth in the morning and night before going to bed to keep the teeth free from cavities, germs, and infections. Also, use a soft bristle toothbrush with fluoride toothpaste to brush your teeth.

So, brush and floss your teeth for 2 – 3 minutes and then rinse thoroughly with warm water at night before bedtime will help you to maintain a beautiful smile with sparkling teeth and free from bad breath.

3. Apply Toner:

Toner helps to restore your skin’s pH levels and makes it resistant to microbes. It also clears dust, impurities, dead cells and pollution. Just pour rose water (a natural toner) on a cotton pad and wipe your face and neck area with it.

Allow the skin to dry normally before sleeping. You can also use any alcohol-free toners but choose the natural one for best results.

4. Pin up your Hair:

Most of the people sleep with their hair down but it’s not good for your hair and skin. The best way is to brush your hair and pin it up into a bun to prevent tangles or knots in the morning. Coming to skin care, the hair which gets contact with the face will contain oil and dirt which in turn gets transferred into the skin causing acne breakouts.

So, braid it or pin it up your hair into a bun for both skin and hair care at night before bedtime.

5. Use a Hand Cream:

To make your hands soft and smooth, you need to make a habit of applying hand cream at night. Wash your hands with mild soap and warm water. Dry your hands with a soft towel and apply a thick and plain hand cream to moisturize your hands.

Regular follow – up will keep your cuticles in proper shape and also reduces the risk of developing early signs of aging such as wrinkles or sagging skin.

6. Apply Eye Cream:

Our eyes will strain throughout the day and relaxes at night. So, taking some care on your eyes will reduce dark circles, puffy eyes and signs of aging.

First of all, remove the eye makeup and apply a lightweight eye cream around your eyes to moisturize and hydrate the delicate skin area along with tightening the skin under eye area.

Caffeine, brighteners, antioxidants, and peptides are some of the ingredients included in your eye cream. Apply it from the inner corners and then massage it gently towards the outer corner of the eyes regularly.

7. Apply Petroleum Jelly on the Feet:

To keep your feet soft, healthy and crack free, you need to follow this nightly beauty regimen. Soak your feet in warm water for few minutes and pat dry your feet thoroughly.

Apply petroleum jelly or any foot cream on the rough, hard and dry skin of your feet. Massage it gently to accelerate blood circulation and cover it with socks before going to bed. Do it regularly for best results.

8. Run your Humidifier:

A humidifier will add moisture to your air and thus makes you sleep better at night time during winter seasons. So, turn on the humidifier to soothe your dry, itching and cracked skin along with giving relief from an exacerbate symptoms of psoriasis, eczema, and other health issues.

So, always turn on your humidifier for proper sleep throughout the night and do it daily.

9. Choose Silk Pillowcases:

Switching to silk pillowcases and silk bed sheets will be more beneficial for your skin and hair. Sleeping on silk (or satin) which has all essential amino acids and proteins will make your skin look young and beautiful.

It makes your hair less damage and to the skin, it prevents sleep line or a sleep crease on the face, unlike a cotton pillowcase. Also, prop your head by using 2 extra pillows to prevent puffiness.

10. Get your Good Night Sleep:

A good sleep of 7 – 8 hours is essential for proper health and skin. Nature and duration the sleep will impact on how you perform during the daytime. Sleep will make the skin and other organs to rejuvenate themselves to repair and heal from the damages.

Lack of sleep will result in wrinkles, dark circles, dull complexion and other health problems. So, for a better sleep, you have to take a warm bath in the evening, darken your room, avoid beverages before bedtime, maintain regular bedtime, turn off your TV and keep your phone in silent mode.

Tips and Precautions:

  1. Do a spot treatment for acne marks (or scars) or go with an overnight mask for rejuvenating your skin.
  2. Have a regular exfoliate to remove dead skin cells all over the body. Pat dry your skin and apply moisturizer by massaging gently to increase blood circulation and to prevent dry or itchy skin.
  3. Always sleep peacefully by preparing or planning for the next day without any tension like select the dress or place the files which you have to take it to the office and other schedules for the next day.
  4. Drink plenty of water (fruit juices, smoothies or herbal teas), include fresh fruits and vegetables which are rich in essential nutrients to help your skin and hair to rejuvenate and glow skin and hair.
  5. Do some oil massage regularly on your skin to boost up the blood circulation and keep it free from dead cells and impurities.
  6. Always keep a water bottle near your bed to drink without disturbing your sleep. Also, drink 1 – 2 glasses of water in the next morning.

Incorporate these beauty habits in your night time skin care regimen that makes you to wake up with radiant and beautiful skin in the morning.
