Kiwi Pineapple Smoothie

Both kiwi and pineapples are refreshing fruits that are loaded with dietary fiber and protein that help in losing weight and building lean muscle mass. The enzymes and minerals in kiwi and pineapple make it an effective remedy for acid reflux and indigestion.

Kiwifruit is loaded with antioxidants, protein, and fiber. A cup of sliced kiwi contains 110 calories, 2 grams of protein and 5.4 grams of fiber which is much higher than a bowl of bran flakes. Kiwi is a rich source of vitamin C, 100 grams of kiwi contains 154% of vitamin C which acts as a powerful antioxidant that eliminates free radicals. It also boosts immunity. Serotonin present in kiwi induces restful sleep while the dietary fiber helps to keep you satiated and reduces hunger. Dietary fiber and enzymes present in kiwi aid digestion and relieve irritable bowel syndrome.

Pineapples add a refreshing flavor and thick and creamy texture to the smoothie. Pineapples are loaded with dietary fiber, vitamin C and manganese and enzyme bromelain. Both vitamin C and manganese found in pineapples provide a powerful antioxidant defense to the body. Pineapple contains both soluble and insoluble fiber that supports digestion and enhances satiety which prevents overeating. Potassium present in pineapples lower high blood pressure.

Bananas are yet another fiber-rich fruit that helps you feel full longer and reduces overall calorie intake. Bananas contain a special type of starch called resistant starch that slows down the digestive process one it reaches the intestine which in turn reduces appetite and speeds up calorie burning.

Ingredients:

  • Kiwi – 1
  • Banana – 1
  • Pineapple chunks – 1 Cup
  • Almond Milk – 1/2 Cup
  • Yogurt – ½ Cup

Procedure:

  • Peel Banana and kiwi and cut it into slices.
  • Toss these banana, pineapple and kiwi pieces into the blender.
  • Then add yogurt, unsweetened almond milk, and honey into the blender.
  • Blend it on high speed until smooth and pour it into a glass.
  • Drink this smoothie immediately to reduce your excess calories and cut down the fat in your body.
  • For best results, drink this smoothie as a replacement to your meal or evening snacks for perfect weight loss.

The enzyme bromelain found in pineapple and the enzyme actinidain found in kiwi fruit help to improve digestion by supporting the breakdown of protein present in foods and their dietary fiber content helps to cure constipation. Honey present in this smoothie helps to relieve your cough and cold.
