Carrot Beetroot Smoothie

Although, beetroot are not a popular ingredient for fruit and vegetable smoothies, but the combination of carrot, beetroot and raw mango makes a delicious sweet, tangy and savoury smoothie that you are bound to love. This is a powerful detox smoothie that contains the goodness of beetroot.

Beets help to flush out excess fluids and toxins from the body in the form of urine and provide healthy skin and hair and improve function of the liver and kidneys.

Carrots supply wholesome amount of dietary fiber to the smoothie which makes it absolutely filling and satiating and helps to prevent hunger pangs for a prolonged period of time. Raw mangoes provide abundant amount of vitamin C to the smoothie along with a delicious tangy taste.

Beets are a healthy cruciferous vegetable that contains a wide range of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. It contain glucosinolates – healthy sulfur containing compounds that regulate the production of bile and bilirubin along with enzymes and digestive acids that aid digestion and improve the function of the liver. The sulfur-containing compounds also reduce the risk of cancer.

Vitamin C also boosts collagen production in the skin and prevents the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Dietary fiber present in beetroot improves satiety and aids digestion by regularizing bowel movement.

Raw mangoes are a rich source of antioxidant vitamins A and C that helps to prevent cell damage caused by free radicals, boost immune system function and protect the eyes against age-related macular degeneration. Soluble fiber pectin present in raw mangoes aids digestion and prevents gastro-intestinal disorders such as diarrhea, constipation, indigestion, chronic dyspepsia, etc.

The antioxidants present in vitamin C also provide protection against cancer and cardiovascular diseases. The acids present in raw mangoes boost the production of bile acids that improve liver function and helps in treating liver disorders. B-complex vitamins present in raw mangoes support energy metabolism from foods.

Ingredients:

  • Carrot chunks – 1 cup
  • Beetroot pieces – ½ cup
  • Raw Mango chunks – ¼ cup
  • Water – 180 ML

Carrot Beetroot smoothie

Procedure:

  • Toss beetroot, carrot and raw mango pieces in the blender.
  • Add water in the blender and blend them well on high speed until smooth.
  • Drink this healthy smoothie to detox the body and to reduce your cholesterol levels along with reducing your weight.
